I have made a Historical Recipe for tomorrow's Event at our friend Miller's - damson plum caramel pie. I have never tasted it or made it before, but it looks and smells pretty legit so I guess we are doing this. Hope it tastes okay! Or at least not too 1776-y!

In an email discussion of the deviled eggs D is bringing, I suggested that I would fight the host on a hill of bones if he thought he was getting all the eggs. He said he does not have a hill of bones, so I have made a (sm.) hill of meringue bones. Never say I won't commit to a bit!

I am also making roasted sesame broccoli and a vat of unsweetened tea for this gathering. Less experimental.

On Friday we head to T-Giving v2 at Pastry's farm, where I am responsible for the green beans (also roasted with salt pork), frybread sandwiches, and a dish I am only calling "maize". I will be sporting my "Fucking Savage" sweatshirt for this one, as is only right and proper.

Saturday I eat a burrito while making a Mari Llwyd with a friend.

And that is all the Feast of Honkeys celebrating I will be doing this year. TATONKA!

I would love to see pix of your hill of bones! The pie sounds marvelous, as does the broc! And I have no idea what a Mari Llwyd is, except I assume it's Welsh due to the paucity of vwls.

We had planned to go to the observatory, but snow might kibosh that. We have a 3# turkey roast as an alternative for us if we stay, it's been sweet tea brining overnight. I'm finishing a chocolate torte in a few minutes, to be followed by a coconut cake and maybe some cookies. Other dishes shall accompany and far too little fridge space.
